Master Reset Instructions
Master reset from settings menu
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
- Back up all data on the internal memory
- From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
- Tap System settings.
- If necessary, tap the Menu key to switch to list view.
- Scroll to ‘PERSONAL,’ and then tap Backup & reset.
- Tap Factory data reset.
- Tap Reset phone.
- Tap Erase everything.
- Review the warning, and then tap OK.
- Wait for the system to reset and do not remove the battery.
Master reset with hardware keys
If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.
To perform a master reset with the hardware keys, follow these steps:
- Back up all data on the internal memory
- Power off the device.
- At the same time, press and hold the Volume Down and Power keys until the LG logo appears.
- When the LG logo appears, quickly release the Power key and press and hold it again.
- Release all keys when the Factory data reset screen appears.
- Use the Volume keys to select Yes or No and then press the Power key to confirm.
