It is recommended that you save (backup) important data to your SIM card, or a computer before proceeding.
First, try this:

- From the home screen, press the Menu key, and then tap Settings.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Factory data reset.
NOTE: To reset just the device settings to factory defaults, tap Settings reset. - Tap Reset phone.
- If security is enabled, you will be prompted to enter your unlock information at this time.
Tap Erase everything.
If that doesn’t work, or if your phone is frozen:
Master reset with hardware keys
- Remove and re-insert the battery.
- Hold down the Menu (left side) and Back (right side) keys below the screen, while also pressing the Power key.
- Release the Power key once you see the “Sony Ericsson” logo, and continue to hold the Menu and Back keys.
- When the AT&T animation ends, and the screen flashes and dims on the “AT&T World Phone” logo, release the Menu and Back keys.
