Master Reset Instructions
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
1. From the Start screen, slide to the App menu, or tap.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap About.
4. Tap reset your phone.
5. A confirmation message will be displayed. Tap Yes.
6. The device will automatically reset and may not function for up to 15 minutes following the master reset.
Hard Reset Instructions
A hard reset, also known as a factory reset or master reset, is the restoration of a device to the state it was in when it left the factory. All settings, applications and data added by the user are removed.
In order to perform a hard reset, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the phone.
2. Press the "Camera," "Volume Down" and "Power" buttons simultaneously.
3. Release the "Power" button when the phone vibrates, but continue to hold the "Camera" and "Volume Down" buttons. Release the buttons when the triangle icon appears.
4. Press the "Window" button to select the "Format" option, and then press it a second time to confirm formatting the phone.
5. The Start-up Wizard runs after a hard reset, just as it runs the first time you start the phone. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up the Focus.
