RCA Tablets — Hard Reset & Factory Reset Instructions (All Models, by Year)

RCA has sold budget Android tablets — mostly through Walmart — since the early 2010s under names like Voyager, Galileo Pro, Viking Pro, Delta Pro, and Mercury, plus a handful of Windows-based Cambio models. Because RCA reuses the same recovery-partition method across nearly its whole Android lineup, this page covers every RCA tablet model in one place rather than a separate page per device. Find your model below by the year you bought it, then use the matching method above.

🔧

Hard Reset — RCA Android Tablets (Voyager, Galileo Pro, Viking Pro, Delta Pro, Mercury, and newer 2024–2026 models)

Applies to virtually every RCA tablet that runs Android — this covers the vast majority of RCA tablets ever sold.

⚠️ A hard reset erases ALL data (apps, photos, accounts). Back up anything on the microSD card first.
1
Power the tablet off completely. If it's frozen, hold Power for 15–20 seconds to force a shutdown.
2
Press and hold Volume Down + Power together until the RCA or Android logo appears, then release.
3
Use the Volume buttons to move the highlight to "Wipe data / factory reset", then press Power to select it.
4
Confirm by highlighting "Yes — delete all user data" and pressing Power.
5
Once the wipe finishes, select "Reboot system now". First boot can take a few minutes.
📱

Factory Reset from Settings — RCA Android Tablets

Use this if the touchscreen still responds normally — no recovery menu needed.

⚠️ Permanently deletes personal data. Make sure backups are saved.
1
Open Settings, then scroll to "System" (older Android versions may show "Backup & reset" directly).
2
Tap "Reset options", then "Erase all data (factory reset)".
3
Enter your PIN or pattern if prompted, then confirm "Erase all data".
4
The tablet restarts and walks through first-time setup as if new.
🪟

Factory Reset — RCA Cambio (Windows 10 models only)

The Cambio line runs Windows 10, not Android, so it uses Windows' own reset tool instead of a recovery partition.

⚠️ Permanently deletes personal files unless you choose "Keep my files".
1
Open Settings → Update & Security → Recovery.
2
Under "Reset this PC", click "Get started".
3
Choose "Remove everything" for a full factory reset, or "Keep my files" to wipe apps and settings only.
4
If the tablet won't boot into Windows at all, hold the Power button for 10 seconds during startup, three times in a row, to force Windows into the Recovery Environment automatically.

RCA Tablet Models by Year

RCA doesn't keep exact model numbers on the box, so most people search by the name printed on the device rather than a model code. Find your era below — the reset method above applies to all of them unless noted.

Frequently asked questions

Will a hard reset delete everything on my RCA tablet?

Yes. A hard reset erases all apps, photos, saved logins, and settings, returning the tablet to its out-of-box state. Back up anything on the microSD card or in cloud storage first.

My RCA tablet screen is frozen and won't respond — can I still reset it?

Yes. The Volume Down + Power button combo works from a completely frozen or black screen because it boots straight into the recovery partition, bypassing the normal Android interface entirely.

Does resetting remove Factory Reset Protection (FRP) on RCA tablets?

No — if the tablet was signed into a Google account before the reset, Android's FRP will ask for that same Google account after setup. This is a Google security feature, not something RCA controls.

Is the RCA Cambio reset differently than other RCA tablets?

Yes. The RCA Cambio runs Windows 10, not Android, so it doesn't have a recovery-partition button combo. It's reset through Windows' own "Reset this PC" tool instead.
