Master Reset Instructions
Master reset from settings menu
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
- Back up all necessary data. See: Preparing for a master reset on Android
- From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Factory data reset.
- Tap Reset phone.
- Tap Erase everything.
Master reset with hardware keys
- A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
- If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
- Back up all necessary data if the device is responding and can synchronize files. See: Preparing for a master reset on Android
- Turn off the phone.
Note: If the phone is unresponsive and does not turn off, remove the battery and then re-insert it. Press and hold the Home key, Volume Down key and Power key at the same time.
Continue to hold the keys until the device turns back on. When the device turns on, release the Power key and continue to hold the Home key and Volume Down key until you see the reset screen (Android in a Box). Release the keys. The phone will restart.
