Master Reset Instructions

Master reset from settings menu

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

1. Back up all data on the internal memory. See: Backup & restore.

2. Save any open files, and back up all necessary data to a computer if the device is responsive and can synchronize files.

3. From any Home screen, touch the Menu key.

4. Touch Settings.

5. Touch Privacy.

6. Touch Factory data reset.

7. Un-check the Erase SD card check box.

8. Touch Reset phone.

9. Touch Erase everything.

Master reset with hardware keys

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

1. Back up all data on the internal memory. See: Backup & restore.

2. Turn off the phone.

· Note: If the phone is unresponsive and does not turn off, remove the battery and then re-insert it.

3. Press and simultaneously hold the Volume Down, Qwerty F, and Qwerty A keys.

4. Press and hold the Power/Lock key.

5. Release only the Power/Lock key after you see the LG logo.

· Note: If you see the Android booting up, the reset hasn’t been completed and you will need to restart.

6. Release the remaining keys after the LG logo flashes.

7. The Android Unpacking screen appears.

8. The phone will restart and complete the factory reset.
