Master Reset Instructions
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
1. Make sure, that your device is on.
2. Then from the main home screen, tap Menu -> Settings -> Privacy -> Factory data reset -> Reset phone.
3. Now enter your password if required, then tap Erase everything to confirm.
Hard Reset Instructions
A hard reset, also known as a factory reset or master reset, is the restoration of a device to the state it was in when it left the factory. All settings, applications and data added by the user are removed.
In order to perform a hard reset, follow these steps:
1. Power off the phone.
2. Press and hold Volume Down + Power button until the device turns on.
3. Now you will see menu that allows for Fast book, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock.
4. Then selects Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button.
5. Next press and release the Power button.
6. After that confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO.
7. Select Yes to Reset your SAMSUNG T839 Sidekick 4G. Once the reset process is complete, the phone will then reboot to its factory fresh state settings.
