Master Reset Instructions
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
1. Touch home key > All apps icon > Settings, settings app icon > Backup & reset.
2. Touch Factory data reset.
3. Read the factory data reset information, select the Erase SD card check box if necessary, and touch Reset phone.
4. Touch Erase everything. Your phone will power down and reset itself, which may take up to 10 minutes.
Hard Reset Instructions
A hard reset, also known as a factory reset or master reset, is the restoration of a device to the state it was in when it left the factory. All settings, applications and data added by the user are removed.
In order to perform a hard reset, follow these steps:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the Volume down key.
Note: To turn the device off completely, remove the battery.
2. With the Volume down key held down, press and hold the Power key.
3. Release the Power key when the Android system recovery screen appears.
4. Use the Volume down key to scroll to wipe data/factory reset.
5. With wipe data/factory reset highlighted, press the Power key.
6. Press the Volume down key to scroll to yes — delete all user data.
7. With Yes — delete all user data highlighted, press the Power key.
8. Once the wipe is complete, with reboot system now highlighted, press the Power key.
9. The device will restart.
10. The device is now reset and ready for use.
