Master Reset Instructions

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

1.Back up all data on the internal memory. See: Back up & restore

2.From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.

3.Tap the Settings.

4.Tap the Privacy.

5.Tap the Factory data reset.

6.Tap the Reset phone.

7.Tap the Erase everything.

8.If prompted, enter the password.

9.The default password is 1234.

10.Tap OK.

11.If necessary, enter and confirm the password again.

12.Tap OK.

Hard Reset Instructions

A hard reset, also known as a factory reset or master reset, is the restoration of a device to the state it was in when it left the factory. All settings, applications and data added by the user are removed.

  1. Turn off the phone.
  2. Note: If the phone will not power down, remove the battery and reinsert it.
  3. Press and hold the Send key, Volume Up key, and Power key simultaneously.
  4. Release the keys when the following options appear on the screen.
    • Reboot
    • Apply SDcard: Update.zip
    • Wipe data/Factory Reset
    • Wipe Cache partition
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight Wipe Cache Partition.
  6. Press the Center key to select and start the wipe.
  7. Press the Center key again when the screen displays Reset Successful.
  8. The phone will restart.
