Htc Thunderbolt 2 Rezound Hard Reset 

Master Reset Instructions

A factory data (hard) reset may help with a blank or frozen screen, apps crashing or freezing, keypad/touchscreen problems, can’t hear, device making noises, can’t make or receive calls and device won’t sync. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren’t currently using the tool.

Warning Perform a factory data reset only if absolutely necessary as it removes all data including:

  • GoogleTM account
  • System and app data
  • App settings
  • Downloaded apps
  • Music, pictures and videos (It’s recommended to backup this data).

Note Notes:

  • An alternate reset method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.
  • Turn off Fast Boot option.

Performing a factory reset from settings

  1. On the Apps screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Backup & reset.
  3. Tap Factory data reset.
  4. Tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
    Note If screen is frozen, remove/reinsert battery.
  2. While holding down the Volume Down button (located on the upper-left edge), press the Power button (located on top-right edge).
  3. Release the Power button once device vibrates.
    Note When the HBOOT screen appears, release the Volume down button.
  4. Press the Volume Down button to select Factory Reset then press the Power button.
    Note This boot process takes several moments, check the progress bar located in the upper-right.
    Note Skip Google account setup during initial activation to determine if third-party app is the cause of an issue.
